Job Description Summary:

The Oakland University School of Nursing is seeking applications for exceptional nurse researchers and educators for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 15, 2018. Candidates must hold a current Michigan Registered Nurse license or be eligible for Michigan RN licensure. The School of Nursing provides high quality and accessible education to baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral students. Applicants will be expected to engage in scholarly activities, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and demonstrate a commitment to service. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Mental health focus is desirable but all applicants welcome to apply.

Oakland University is a nationally recognized doctoral research institution located on 1,443 acres of scenic land in the cities of Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills in Oakland County, Michigan. The University has 132 bachelor’s degree programs and 138 graduate degree and certificate programs. Academics include programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business Administration, School of Education and Human Services, School of Engineering and Computer Science, School of Health Sciences, School of Medicine and School of Nursing.

The School of Nursing offers high quality and accessible education through CCNE accredited programs, including basic BSN, RN-BSN, BSN second degree; DNP in nurse anesthesia, family nurse practitioner, adult-gerontology nurse practitioner, forensic nursing, post master’s DNP and a post baccalaureate forensic nursing certification program. Minimum Qualifications:

It is preferred that candidates have a completed doctorate (PhD, DNP, DNSc etc.) from an accredited university. Applicants who are enrolled in a doctoral program and are all but completed with their dissertation or doctoral project may be considered if they can demonstrate evidence of degree completion prior to employment. Candidates should have an appreciation of and commitment to the value of diversity and developing a diverse faculty and student body.
