Job Description Summary:

Oakland University’s Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) Department has an opening for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 15, 2018. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field, with teaching and research interests in the areas of human factors engineering, ergonomics, human computer interaction, design of user interface, and safety engineering. Only applicants whose teaching and research match closely with these areas will be considered.

The standard teaching load for engineering faculty is 2 courses per semester and a good startup package with course release will be offered. Faculty have access to a large local industry base for joint research and educational projects – including automotive, advanced manufacturing, defense, logistics, energy and healthcare

Preference will be given to those applicants that will have completed the Ph.D. by the appointment date. The position will remain open and applications will be accepted until filled.

Oakland University is a nationally recognized doctoral research institution located on 1,443 acres of scenic land in the cities of Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills in Oakland County, Michigan. The University has 132 bachelor’s degree programs and 138 graduate degree and certificate programs. Academics include programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business Administration, School of Education and Human Services, School of Engineering and Computer Science, School of Health Sciences, School of Medicine and School of Nursing.
