Minimum Qualifications

● Master’s degree or higher in education or related field
● Current or prior experience as a teacher, teacher leader or school administrator

Desired Qualifications

● Demonstrated skill with individual and small group coaching
● Experience leading professional learning for adults
● Interest in Saudi culture and language
● Interest in comparative education and school reform

Position Purpose

To support a positive and meaningful learning experience for participating Saudi educators, each participant will be assigned a university-based mentor, hereafter referred to as the University Mentor. Each University Mentor will be assigned up to five participants who will form a job-alike learning community, hereafter referred to as a “Mentoring Circle”. To the extent possible, University Mentors will be paired with participants who have similar backgrounds, experiences and interests. University Mentors will meet weekly with their mentees and learning community/mentoring circle following the Friday Seminar or at time determined by the small group. University Mentors will work with their mentees for the duration of the 6-month residency.

Job Duties

● Meet weekly with mentees and designated learning community (Mentoring Circle)
● Support mentees through individualized and small-group coaching
● Oversee the development and successful completion of required assignments, to include a Professional Learning Plan, Inquiry Project, and Change Project
● Attend University Mentor meetings and training sessions
● Assist with research data collection for the project
● If desired, work with the University Director to plan and lead Friday Seminars
