Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. Current National Athletic Trainer’s Board of Certification (NATABOC) and CPR/AED certifications and eligibility for Michigan state licensure required. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Valid Michigan vehicle operator’s license and a driving record acceptable for coverage by the university’s insurance carrier.

Desired Qualifications

A minimum of 2 year’s professional experience. Post graduate Athletic Training experience at the NCAA/NAIA level – highly preferred. Master’s Degree in related field. Knowledge of EMR software.

Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.

Position Purpose

Responsible for assisting in the administration of a sound sports medicine program. Practice athletic training competently including but not limited to injury/illness prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care of and rehabilitation/reconditioning of student athletes suffering from illness or injury. Keep accurate records of all treatments of athletic injuries; maintain an organized and functional athletic training room.
