Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience in quality data maintenance and report-writing skills using advanced features of tools such as Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word. The ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests. Be proactive with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to meet project deadlines, handle difficult situations and be comfortable with public speaking. Must be able to relate well to others within an academic environment. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively with others.

Desired Qualifications

Experience working in higher education. Knowledge of the academic publishing process and/or thesis and dissertation submission process. Experience in proofreading and editing. Demonstrate experience or ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.

Position Purpose

Manage and communicate the thesis and dissertation submission process to the college, schools, faculty and graduate students to ensure the timely completion of requirements and deadlines are met.
